LTI uses the latest in 3D laser scanning software to obtain data that can then be converted into a 3D CAD file. This technique is used when a one of a kind product exists and 3D CAD data needs to be created. Traditional reverse engineering techniques using coordinate measuring machines are also used to create a data base.
Specifically, our ZScanner 700 brings needed speed, ease-of-use and unprecedented versatility to 3D scanning. Scanning can be done on any object in the tightest spaces and in real-time with one continuous scan.
Also, for post processing software, we use Rapidform XOR/Redesign which offers the most comprehensive technology to take 3D scan data and transform it into high quality, usable and parametric 3D models for a wide variety of reverse engineering applications. It is the only software that is built specifically to bring in 3D scan data and create watertight polygon mesh models, fit freeform NURBS surfaces onto the model (either automatically or with the precision of user-designed layouts), or create parametric solid CAD models directly from 3D scan data. Imagine creating a parametric Solidworks file from a scanned database.
